The following is a list of countries that have issued orders on travel from India.

As of now, these are the countries that have restricted entry for travellers from India.

This comes ahead of a vaccine update from federal officials.

The request for extra flights from airlines was turned down because of concerns about queues at passport control, the BBC reported on Thursday.

From 4am BST (British Summer Time) on Friday - 8:30am Indian time - most people who have travelled from India in the last 10 days will be refused entry. However, four air carriers had requested the Heathrow Airport to allow eight more flights from India as travellers wanted to reach the United Kingdom before the new rules came into effect.

"Canadians are being told not to go to work, not to send their children to school, but hundreds of global flights continue to land in Canada each week", he said Thursday, adding "It is long past time for Justin Trudeau to take action".

On Monday the Department for Transport announced that India would be added to the government red list because of rising infection rates and a new variant.

The US has not banned travel to and from India but the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued an advisory noting that even people fully vaccinated run the risk of contracting and spreading the disease in India.

According to the figures shared by Bhushan, 4.03 per cent Covid-19 cases were reported in the first wave in those below 10 years, while 2.97 per cent cases were registered in the second wave.

Looking back a little further, eight of 13 worldwide flights with cases on board which have landed in Vancouver since April 11 have been from India.

Canada has suspected flights to and from other countries in the past.

Boris Johnson, speaking at Tuesday's Downing Street press conference, insisted adding India to the travel red list was "purely precautionary".

The Trudeau government is considering new travel restrictions but has long resisted targetting specific countries.

"Travellers from high-risk countries, including India, will be required to have a PCR Covid-19 test 72 hours prior to leaving the last port they are in before travelling to Australia", the report says.
