CDC: Fully vaccinated Americans cleared to travel without tests or quarantine periods

The CDC has updated their guidance for fully vaccinated Americans and now says they can now resume travel with low risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19.

Domestic travelers who are fully vaccinated - meaning two weeks have passed since their second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna shot or their one and only Johnson & Johnson shot - do not need to self-quarantine upon arriving at their destination and "do not need to get tested before or after travel unless their destination requires it", according to the CDC. However, the CDC had not made any move to review its guidance that discouraged all non-essential trips. However, all air passengers coming into the USA must have a negative coronavirus test result from no more than three days before their travel date.

These are recommendations and millions of travelers have flown in the last several weeks, according to the TSA.

Travel guidelines have not change for unvaccinated people. They should self-quarantine for seven to ten days if they don't get tested.

However, the TSA said it was not lifting restrictions that bar most-non US citizens from the United States if they have recently traveled to China, Brazil, South Africa, and most of Europe.

Former President Donald Trump Launches New Website
Twitter banned Trump permanently on January 8, and other internet companies have taken similar actions to "deplatform" Trump. Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, at the time cited the risk of ongoing violence for the ban of Trump.

It's still recommended, however, that individuals who are not fully vaccinated have their Easter dinner and egg hunts with only the people in their household or outdoors while 6 feet apart to prevent the spread of Covid-19, the CDC said.

The CDC did not revise guidance for non-vaccinated people.

In a statement, CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said, "With millions of Americans getting vaccinated every day, it is important to update the public on the latest science about what fully vaccinated people can do safely, now including guidance on safe travel".

In addition, the agency's updated guidance says that fully vaccinated people do not need COVID-19 tests before global travel unless it is required by their destination and vaccinated people returning from worldwide destinations do not need to self-quarantine upon their return, unless required by state or/and local authorities. It added that vaccinated people returning to the United States do not need to self-quarantine unless it is required by state or local authorities.
