British nationals now in the countries on the red list should make use of the commercial options available if they wish to return to England.
This excludes British or Irish nationals, or individuals who have residence rights in the United Kingdom, however they must quarantine for 10 days in one of the government-regulated hotels upon entering the country.
The Department for Transport said the ban on visitors from Kenya, Bangladesh, the Philippines and Pakistan would enter force at 0300 GMT on April 9.
Under the terms of the travel bans, worldwide visitors who have departed from or travelled through red-list countries in the preceding 10 days are refused entry into England.
Under Boris Johnson's roadmap, global travel could resume by May 17 at the earliest - although a review of this will be revealed next week.
The UK government said Friday it would add four countries to its so-called red list banning incoming travel to England from next week, citing coronavirus "variants of concern".
The measures are aimed at reducing the risk posed by new coronavirus variants - such as the South Africa strain - the DfT said, based on advice from the Government-funded Joint Biosecurity Centre.
Macron announces French schools closure and nationwide restrictions in limited lockdown
The move is a departure from the government's policy in recent months, which has focused on regionalized restrictions. With presidential elections scheduled for 2022, Macron is having to weigh both political and health considerations.
The data showed the majority of cases of the South Africa variant detected in England so far were linked to global travel and that very few are thought to have come from Europe, the department added.
It also has 104 cases of the variant first reported in the Philippines called P.3.
During their stay, passengers will be required to take a coronavirus test on or before day two and on or after day eight, and they will not be allowed to shorten their quarantine period on receipt of a negative test result.
No direct flight bans from the countries will be put in place but passengers are being advised to check their travel plans before departing for England.

Overseas holidays are now banned due to Britain's coronavirus lockdown measures, but British Prime Minister Boris Johnson plans to make an announcement on Easter Monday about lifting restrictions in England.
