Aides to NY governor subpoenaed in sexual harassment probe

"I felt shocked and didn't understand what had just happened", said Vill. "Governor Cuomo should resign".

Then, Vill said, the governor "stopped and turned to me and said, 'You are handsome"'.

Vill said she was intimidated by the governor and essentially froze during the incident due to their height differential. Vill is married, a mother of three and grandmother of one.

Vill's claim echoes several accusations made against the 63-year-old governor primarily by a series of staffers and former aides who say he made unwanted advances and inappropriate comments. Allred said today Vill is the 10th accuser. He has said his behavior was meant to be playful and harmless, and he's apologized if he ever made anyone uncomfortable.

Vill, whose house was among those damaged, invited Cuomo into her home and expressed dismay at its condition.

The governor has denied any wrongdoing, though he has acknowledged it had been a "custom" for him to kiss and hug people when greeting them. The pair were alone together on the second level of the residence when the woman said Cuomo closed the door, reached under her blouse and fondled her before she told him to stop.

"Notably she didn't say my husband and I, or my family and I, only specifically me", she said. "Strangers do not kiss, especially upon meeting someone for the first time". In 2017 she became secretary to the governor overseeing his Executive Chamber and other state agencies.

Cuomo's visit to Vill's home was not planned but part of a tour he took of Lake Ontario flooding, Vill said in a prepared statement.

The group also said that as of Thursday, 2,981 people had been arrested, charged or sentenced in the crackdown since February 1. Other media outlets reported at least seven protesters were wounded when security forces opened fire in various places.

On March 20, McGrath accused Cuomo of sexual harassment since she was hired in 2018. She claimed that the governor asked her to play strip poker and kissed her on the lips without her permission when she worked for him in 2017.

She says she declined the offer and that it made her very uncomfortable.

For the next two years, Cuomo repeatedly commented on her appearance and touched her more than she felt was necessary or professional, she said. Instead, she went out the front door and watched Cuomo and his team look at the damage. He then leaned down on top of me and while still holding one of my hands he forcibly grabbed my face with his other big hand and kissed my cheek, again in a very aggressive manner. I know the difference between an innocent gesture and a sexual one.

Allred provided a photograph of a video showing that moment, which Vill's son shot at the time. Vill called Cuomo's action "highly flirtatious and inappropriate".

"I never harassed anyone, I never assaulted anyone, I never abused anyone", Cuomo has said.

Charlotte Bennett, a former aide, was allegedly lured to his office because the governor claimed he 'was uncertain how to get from his "settings" app to his "notes" app'.

Although Cuomo's own party and fellow politicians are telling him to resign, he is refusing to resign. His actions were overtly sexual, highly inappropriate, and disrespectful to me and to my family.

Allred is a women's rights lawyer whose past clients include the family of O.J. Simpson's slain wife, Nicole Simpson. "When you have high-profile powerful people who engage in repetitive sexual harassment, they always have enablers", Katz said. The state's Assembly has started an impeachment investigation into the allegations. Attorney General Letitia James is leading a separate inquiry into the accusations. CNN reported that Biden thinks Cuomo should step down if the allegations are true, and that he also believes Cuomo will be prosecuted.
