COVID-19 cases in Ontario drop below 1600 as positivity rate climbs

Beginning March 10, 2021, select pharmacies in Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington, Toronto and Windsor-Essex County are booking appointments for AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines for eligible people between the ages of 60 and 64.

Ontario is reporting more than 1,500 new cases of COVID-19 today as virus-related hospitalizations surge in the province.

The Ontario government is providing $1.2 billion in new money to help the province's hospitals.

The rolling seven-day average of new cases has climbed from 1,334 to 1,667 week-over-week.

There are nineteen new cases of the B.1.17 variant bringing the total to 1,359, one B.1.351 variant case was removed with that total now at 47 and one new P.1 variant case was reported with that total now at 37. The province has received enough of the vaccine to give 12% of its population a single dose.
