Cohen's prediction that Trump could wind up in jail came a few hours after the Supreme Court ruled that Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance can obtain Trump's tax returns as part of NY prosecutors' investigation into his past business dealings.
"The work continues", Vance said in a statement issued after the court's action. Meanwhile, Donald Trump Jr. also blasted the court's decision as another witch hunt against his father.
"That's fascism, not justice - and that is exactly what they are trying to do with respect to me, except that the people of our Country won't stand for it", the statement reads. The case revolved around the state Supreme Court extending the deadline for mail in votes by three days.
Representatives for Trump did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
A Mazars spokesman said the company "remains committed to fulfilling all of our professional and legal obligations".
Mr Trump's tax records will not become public as part of the prosecutor's criminal investigation, but the court's action is a blow to Mr Trump, who long fought on so many fronts to keep his tax records shielded from view.
The 2019 Trump administration provision barred health clinics from receiving federal family planning funds if they provided referrals for abortions, prompting organizations including Planned Parenthood to withdraw from the Title X program.
In July 2020, the Supreme Court ruled that Vance could seek Trump's tax returns, but allowed room for Trump to make objections to the particulars of Vance's subpoena.
The court's order is a win for Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Junior, who has been seeking Mr Trump's tax records since 2019 as part of an investigation into alleged hush money payments. The court also turned away separate cases brought by Trump allies in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia and Arizona - all states won by Biden. But a court that includes three Trump appointees waited through the election, Trump's challenge to his defeat, and a month after Trump left office before issuing its order.
Mexico: Six arrested for selling fake COVID-19 vaccines
At least six people were arrested in northern Mexico on Wednesday for allegedly trafficking fake coronavirus vaccines . This he stated while talking on a private news channel.
The Supreme Court in July rejected those arguments but said Trump could raise other subpoena objections.
Dunne rejected claims that the subpoena was politically motivated, arguing that grand jury secrecy laws would prevent any politicians from viewing the subpoenaed documents.
Mr Trump's 2018 tweet suggested that Ms Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, was lying when she said an unknown man threatened her in a parking lot in 2011 after she agreed to co-operate with a magazine story about what she says was her sexual relationship with Mr Trump.
Tax records will only be one tool prosecutors will use to examine whether any of those statements amounted to fraud.
A federal appeals court threw out the suit, saying Ms Clifford's allegations fell short of meeting the standard for defamation under Texas law.
"I have a feeling that if it turns out that there is anything in those tax returns that indicates foreign investments that might show a certain level of disloyalty to the country, or hob knobbing with the evil corporations who the Trump people mistrust as it is, that could diminish your standing in the party", Dave said.
Justice Clarence Thomas led the effort to help Trump challenge Pennsylvania election procedures.
In one court filing previous year, however, prosecutors signalled they may expand their investigation based on the contents of the records, citing public reports of "possibly extensive and protracted criminal conduct at the Trump Organization".
