Rep. Taylor Greene urges lawmakers to oppose 'unconstitutional' Equality Act

Marjorie Taylor Greene

"I'm voting yes on the Equality Act for Evie Newman, my daughter and the strongest, bravest person I know", Newman told the House floor on Tuesday.

Greene tried to delay a House vote on the bill on Wednesday by making a motion to adjourn so that her colleagues could "rethink destroying #WomensRights and #WomensSports and #ReligiousFreedom", she said in a tweet.

Maybe Marjorie Taylor Greene should be more anxious about her close allies who were part of the violent coup on January 6th instead of cyberbullying trans kids and antagonizing her colleague.

The Equality Act has been introduced multiple times and was passed by the House in 2019.

Her video, like her tweet, mirrors Newman's by showing the two offices, then Greene is seen putting up a large sign outside her door that read: "'There are TWO genders: "MALE & FEMALE 'Trust the Science!"

Newman, who is also a freshman congresswoman, gave an impassioned speech on the House floor in support of transgender rights. It was one of the bills President Joe Biden highlighted as his top legislative priorities on the campaign trail. "Thought we'd put up our Transgender flag so she can look at it every time she opens her door".

In the meantime, Newman vows to move forward with the support of the House to pass the Equality Act.

"Today, I rose in defense of women, girls, and children, ' Greene tweeted from her congressional account on Wednesday. This garbage must end, in order to #RestoreOurGOP". "But your biological son does NOT belong in my daughters" bathrooms, locker rooms, and sports teams'.

For now, we must all continue doing everything we can to help protect our community so we can get back to brighter days sooner". Weekly incidence rates are declining but hover at approximately 100 per 100,000 population in both Peel and Toronto .

"And that's just another indication that while America, by broad super majorities, thinks it's wrong to fire LGBT people just because of who we are or who we love, it's not even controversial among most people in America right now. here in Washington, in that Republican caucus, only three - only three out of more than 200 would support equality for LGBT Americans so I hope people understand this is a caucus that is dangerously out of step with where the American people are on this, the pandemic, and other things".

Republican congressman Adam Kinzinger called out Greene for hanging her anti-trans sign and also for the bile she directed at Newman's daughter. "My daughter has found her authentic self".

First-term congresswoman Greene has stirred controversy at least since taking office in January for her embrace of conspiracy theories ranging from widespread voter fraud to a gaffe on "Jewish space lasers" she said caused the devastating wildfires in California in 2018 and the QAnon group that believes a Satanic ring of pedophiles in high-ranking circles are bent against discrediting former President Donald Trump. 'Thought we'd put up ours so she can look at it every time she opens her door'.

In a tweet posted to her personal Twitter she wrote: 'God created ONLY TWO genders'. "It will put trans rights above women's rights", Greene said.

Newman added Thursday that she remains "immensely proud of her daughter". "I just needed to make that statement to her". "Trust the science" outsider her office. Rep. Sean Casten, Illinois Democrat, said her display was "s$3 ickening, pathetic, unimaginably cruel", given that Ms.

'Without the Equality Act, millions of Americans like my daughter can be denied housing, education, and more simply because they identify as transgender, ' Newman wrote on Twitter along with a video of her speaking on the House floor about the bill.

Some members of Congress have publicly rebuked Greene.

"This hate is exactly why the Equality Act is necessary and what we must protect Marie Newman's daughter, and all our LGBTQ+ loved ones, against".
