Lindsey Boylan, Andrew Cuomo accuser, alleges 'pervasive harassment' by NY governor

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo speaks during a press conference Wednesday

Lindsey Boylan, a former Cuomo aide and present candidate for Manhattan borough president, accused the governor of assorted situations of sexual harassment and undesirable touching throughout her tenure within the administration. Boylan said she perceived that as a reference to Clinton's affair with Monica Lewinsky. She ultimately resigned in 2018 after she says Cuomo kissed her without her consent. Boylan explained on the website: "As I got up to leave and walk toward an open door, he stepped in front of me and kissed me on the lips. I was in shock, but I kept walking", Boylan wrote. Cuomo denies the allegations. "But it's just not true".

Mr. Cuomo's spokesperson Caitlin Girouard said that all Ms. Boylan's "claims of inappropriate behaviour are quite simply false".

In an essay in the Daily News, Hinton said Cuomo's "penchant for bullying" is "the norm". "I mean, the Governor actually outranks a journo when it comes to news value, right?"

Stefanik became the first federal lawmaker to call for action against Cuomo, who's also under fire over his administration's alleged cover-up of COVID-19 deaths at nursing homes in the state.

Boylan joined the administration in the spring of 2015 at Empire State Development, which runs the state's economic development programs.

"Cuomo is an abuser", Mr. Kim said.

Past statements from Governor Cuomo - "The fearless women who chose to come forward deserve swift and definitive justice in this matter". "It was an uncomfortable but all-too-familiar feeling: the struggle to be taken seriously by a powerful man who tied my worth to my body and my appearance".

Boylan, 36, is a former state economic development official and aide of Cuomo, and is now running for Manhattan Borough President.

First-year Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, R-N.Y., has echoed Stefanik's call for Cuomo's resignation Tuesday, the NY post reported.

"You could be sisters". If they did, they would go after Cuomo's female aides as hard as any Republican or corporate sexist - perhaps harder, given their betrayal of their sisters. The New York Submit was first to resurface Cuomo's remarks. "But his abusive behavior needs to stop", she wrote.

Specifically, Girouard said Boylan was lying when she wrote in her essay that Cuomo asked her to play "strip poker" while on his plane in October 2017.

"That's exactly what I was thinking", I responded sarcastically and awkwardly.

Other parts of Boylan's piece feature screenshots of messages she received from other members of Cuomo's staff, including some of his inner-circle. She said she agreed to take the position after the administration agreed to let her keep her old office on a separate floor.

On December 14, Congresswoman Stefanik issued the following: "I am publicly calling for an independent investigation into the serious allegations of pervasive workplace sexual harassment and verbal abuse by Governor Andrew Cuomo". His inappropriate behaviour toward women was an affirmation that he liked you, that you must be doing something right. He used intimidation to silence his critics.

This crush resulted in the governor allegedly seeking her out for specific tasks and even having aides arrange private meetings with her. Cumo's behavior was known to all his staff members but no one dared to speak up.

Cuomo was in a long-term relationship with Food Network star Sandra Lee throughout the timeframe laid out in Boylan's accusations. Cuomo announced his split from Lee in September 2019.

Cuomo's office disputed her account, saying that flight logs and manifests from October 2017 showed that there was no flight where Boylan was alone with the governor, a press aide, and a state trooper. She made them in Twitter postings last December.
