Instagram testing early prototype of "Vertical Stories" feed

Instagram confirms it’s working on a “Vertical Stories” feed – TechCrunch

The folks at Instagram are trialling a world without these, after apparently receiving feedback that users are more into original content (ie. pics and vids filmed specifically for your Stories) and not second-hand stuff.

In a new trial, Instagram is disabling the ability to share posts from your feed on your stories, in a possible major blow to artists, small businesses, and activist groups. "This is not something we're now testing on Instagram", the Facebook spokesperson said.

While this feature is still not confirmed and is under testing features, there is no say in whether this will get approved or not, because a large part of the population while hate seeing posts from feed on stories the other half is habitual of doing it.

According to a report by Social Media Today, this is being done as a test and some users are seeing a notification that reads, "We hear from our community that they want to see fewer feed posts in stories".

OPEC experts meet as rising oil prices mask demand worries
The ministerial meeting will convene on Wednesday, although it is not expected to recommend any adjustments to oil output policy. Gasoline stocks fell by 240,000 barrels, defying analysts' expectations for a build of 1.1 million barrels.

Short video making app Instagram Reels is rolling out a new update allowing users to make 30-second videos instead of 15 seconds.

This doesn't feel right, and the launch of the new format has added to Instagram's clutter. Instagram, it seems, is in sore need of modernizing as the interest of users in the traditional Stories format is declining in proportion to a rise in interest in platforms like TikTok.

Many people browse Instagram from their desktops while at work, as it might be prohibitive or too visual to take out their smartphone. In that change, Instagram created the Reels tab, and put it literally front and center. In contrast, TikTok's feed is vertical, so users swipe up to get to the next piece of content. Not so coincidentally, Instagram's dedicated Reels feed (Reels is Instagram's version of TikTok) is vertically oriented, as is its main posts feed.

Instagram is testing a new change that may invite mixed reactions from users worldwide.
