Cardi B Files to Divorce Offset

Offset of Migos and Cardi B attend the 2018 American Music Awards

The hip-hop star has reportedly taken legal action and filed for divorce from her husband following three years of marriage and sharing daughter Kulture Kiari together.

The rapper filed the documents in Georgia on Tuesday, indicating she's seeking a dissolution of their marriage. Cardi, real name Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, is listed as the plaintiff while Offset (né Kiari Kendrell Cephus) is listed as the defendant. However, in a surprise move, the Bronx-born rapper has filed from divorce from her husband of almost three years.

In Vogue's January 2020 cover story Cardi got candid about some of the things she and Offset were still working through.

Chris Evans uses that NSFW pic for a patriotic goal
Jamie Lee Curtis , who starred alongside Evans in Rian Johnson's Knives Out , clapped back, "My boy! Proud of him. Whereas Scott teased his brother by tweeting , "Was off social media for the day yesterday.

The filing also states that Cardi, who's listed as the petitioner, "shows the Court that she is a fit and proper person to have legal custody of the minor child with final decision-making authority over legal custody matters, and to have primary physical custody of the minor child". No word on spousal support either, for now at least.

The couple married in a private ceremony in 2017. Hollywood Unlocked was first to report the news. They brought in an officiant to formally marry them, and shortly thereafter. filed for and received a marriage certificate in Fulton County, which made it legit. The couple almost split over cheating rumors, but reconciled in 2018 after Offset crashed the stage at Cardi's Rolling Loud concert in 2018 and begged for her forgiveness in front of thousands.

A contested divorce usually stipulates that both parties involved have not come to an agreement regarding an equal division of assets, which then requires judicial oversight.
