Jaya Bachchan slams people for defaming film industry

Jaya Bachchan hits out at Ravi Kishan's 'drug addiction' comment in parliament: It is a shame

In a strongly-worded statement, she expressed that "People in the entertainment industry are being flogged by social media".

Drugs-related allegations that have emerged against the film industry in the Sushant Singh Rajput investigations were raised in parliament by actor-politician Ravi Kishan. "I completely disagree. I hope that the government tells such people not to use this kind of language", she said.

"There are people in the entertainment industry who are some of the highest taxpayers (in the country)".

On the first day of the monsoon session of Parliament on Monday, BJP MP Ravi Kishan drew the attention of the House to the drug business in Bollywood.

This seemed to be in reference to Kangana Ranaut who had called the film industry a gutter and alleged that 99% people were into drugs.

The 72-year-old leader said the image of the entertainment fraternity is being tarnished at the hands of a few individuals.

Scientific voices point out that pausing clinical trials to review and redirect course, if need be, was in fact sound in science. Seoul has also set up a special support center to facilitate the development of vaccines by local companies.

"Jis thaali me khate hai, usi me ched karte hai", she said in Hindi in a dig at the actor, literally meaning destroying the goose that lays the golden egg. "If there is a national calamity, they come forward, they give money and their services", she said.

He urged the government to take "strict action" against the culprits, adding that the supply of drugs is a conspiracy by neighboring countries like Pakistan. They come and speak for them, they support them.

Hitting out Kangana for this comment, Jaya Bachchan said, without naming her, that it was a shame that people who made a living out of the industry are now calling it a "gutter". "When Jaya ji and I joined, the situation was not like this, but now we need to protect the industry", the BJP MP told ANI.

Kangana Ranaut had hit back at Jaya Bachchan for criticising her in the Rajya Sabha for her latest remark on Bollywood and questioned would she say the same things if it was her daughter Shweta Bachchan or son Abhishek Bachchan who was affected.

"I expected Jaya ji to support what I said. Show compassion for us also", Kangana tweeted.

"There are no proper HR departments in production houses where women can complain, no safety or insurances for those who risk their lives every day, no 8 hours shift regulations". The BrihanMumbai Corporation has also razed Ranaut's office in Mumbai over illegal construction leading to a fresh war of words between the state government and the actor.
