Fortnite removed from both Apple and Google Play Stores

How to install and update Fortnite on iOS after App Store ban

Just earlier on today, on the 13th of August, Epic games had added an update to the game, which allowed both Apple and Android users to pay Epic directly to the company instead of what was allowed and appropriately required. Support for Fortnite signed by Epic Games, which was removed from the App Store on the grounds that it did not comply with Apple's policies. For this, the companies cited the reason that "Fortnite" was violating the companies' in-app payment guidelines.

Developers have long criticized Apple's commissions of between 15% and 30% on many App Store purchases, its prohibitions on courting customers for outside signs-ups, and what some developers see as an opaque and unpredictable app-vetting process. It didn't seek any money but claimed injunctions that could end numerous companies' practices related to their app stores. It has also filed a complaint against Apple in the U.S. District Court in Northern California for dropping Fortnite. With the ongoing antitrust investigations in the USA and Europe, this issue has become even more sensitive for the iPhone maker.

Epic had a lawsuit and corresponding social media campaign locked and loaded. Epic quicklyfiled its suits and released a video parodying Apple's iconic "1984" ad, casting Apple in the role of villain. Facebook says that iOS users will not be able to benefit from this feature as much as expected due to Apple's 30 percent commission, which is burdening business owners. Android users can download the app from other app stores, although that's generally not an option for iPhone users. "In any case, we invite the chance to proceed with our conversations with Epic and take Fortnite back to Google Play". Here is what the company says quite clear-cut: "Developers offering products within a game downloaded on Google Play or providing access to game content must use Google Play In-app Billing as the method of payment".
