Djokovic eager to put US Open behind him in Rome

Have to move on but don’t think I’ll forget about it Novak Djokovic on US Open disqualification

'I understand I have outbursts and this is the personality and the player that I have always been, ' he said.

"Obviously went through ups and downs in my career, managing to control my emotions more or less".

"I can not promise that I will never, ever do anything similar to that".

"I'm going to take this in as profound as possible for me as a big lesson", he added.

"I'm a little bit scared of what is going on in the world, but here I feel safe", said Halep.

Djokovic said he checked with the lineswoman after the incident and was told she was not seriously injured.

Djokovic - the top seed and an overwhelming favourite for the championship - struck the ball in annoyance and it struck the line judge, who collapsed to the ground and could be heard gasping for breath when the incident occurred.

He said: "Of course it was very hard for me to accept right after it happened".

"For a couple of days I was in shock, and I was shaken by the whole default thing". It was just unfortunate it did hit the line umpire in a very awkward place. There was a lot of speculation about whether it was deserved. So I accepted it.

"I felt really sorry to cause the shock and drama to her". "But I'm pretty sure that it's going to be very strict".

"It was totally unexpected and very unintended but, when you hit the ball like that, you have a chance to hit somebody that is on the court".

"I accepted it, I had to move on and that's what I did".

USA drops tax on Canada aluminum, heading off retaliation
A senior Canadian government official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that Canada had made no concessions. The trio wrote to Trump asking him to consider the "negative consequences" for consumers and American suppliers.

"Of course I did not forget about it", Djokovic continued.

Djokovic will return to action at the Italian Open this week as the clay season gets underway.

Nadal said that Djokovic's reckless actions had put him in the position to be defaulted.

Rafa Nadal has already trained for the first time this Thursday on the clay courts of the Foro Italico site, where he will participate in a 1000 Masters in Rome to be held behind closed doors from September 14 to 21 and where Nadal will return to the competition nearly seven months after having won the title in the Acapulco tournament.

"The sooner I resume competition, the faster I will overcome this memory". I'm hoping for the best.

Djokovic had won five of the past seven Grand Slam tournaments to raise his total to 17, closing in on rivals Roger Federer, who has a men's record 20, and Rafael Nadal, who has 19.

"The consequences have been always the same", Nadal said.

"Novak was unlucky. [But] The rules clearly say that's a default".

"Sorry for him. He had an opportunity there", Nadal said.

'But in some ways you should not be doing this.

"Rafa obviously made a decision to stay on clay and practice, surely that gives him more advantage, but even if he didn't practice for that long on clay, he would still be the number one favourite in Roland Garros or any other clay tournament because he's Rafa, you know", he added.

Rafael Nadal disagrees with Novk Djokovic that the time is right to form a new Professional Tennis Players Association.
