Aliens Exist? Astronomers Detect Potential Signs of Life on Venus

No Need for a Telescope to See Uranus on The Night Sky

The discovery of a rare chemical in the clouds of Venus could be a sign of life, an worldwide team of astronomers said in a study published Monday.

Scientists used powerful telescopes to detect a chemical, known as phosphine, that revealed that "something alive is the only explanation for the chemical's source". Massachusetts Institute of Technology scientist Dr William Bains led the work on assessing natural ways to make phosphine.

The researchers say on Earth, phosphine is only made industrially or by microbes that thrive in oxygen-free environments.

This information will now be looked into and studied further, and given how 2020 has gone thus far, we will not be surprised by anything that is discovered out there.

- Its thick atmosphere traps in heat in what is considered a runaway greenhouse effect, rendering Venus the solar system's hottest planet.

Who Desires To Be A Millionaire? 2020
Just before answering his final question, he said: 'I taught piracy one year at a special unit. Mr Fear continued: "I do own a large number of "Now That's What I Call Music" CDs".

But she said it raises many questions regarding how any organisms, if they exist, could survive in the planet's atmosphere, where clouds are made up of about 90% sulphuric acid.

If we gather enough evidence in the future to show it is there, the most pressing question becomes: how similar is it to life on Earth? They found phosphine at levels ranging from five to 20 parts per billion - thousands of times more than what's in Earth's atmosphere.

Venus is known to be hot and acidic, which is why the conditions on the ground would make any kind of life nearly impossible, but the environment on its upper cloud decks is reported to be habitable.

"At the moment, we only have one example of life we know in the entire universe, and that is the example of life on Earth", astrobiologist William Bains of MIT said.

"That would be just awesome".
