Premier League start date 'too early' for Chelsea - Lampard

Arsenal's Pierre Emerick Aubameyang celebrates scoring their first goal with teammates as play resumes behind closed doors following the outbreak of the coronavirus disease

Chelsea were struck by injuries throughout the final, with captain Cesar Azpilicueta (hamstring) and Pedro (shoulder) also picking up problems as their London rivals reigned victorious.

"I am guessing we will be told on when we start and that will be dependant on how we go against Bayern Munich", Lampard told reporters about next season.

"A lot of times there were 50/50s [that went in Arsenal's favour] and we had the same in 2017 but we have to look further than this", he said.

"They can not allow another distracting contract saga to crop up, as we saw with Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, but if Aubameyang does depart, then they will need to replace the goals they are losing".

"Players need to be given a break to play at the level and quality product the Premier League is", Lampard said.

"The players need a break. We deserve to be [given a fair start] as a Premier League club competing in the Champions League".

Willian has a two year offer from Chelsea, and the 31-year-old could stay.

SpaceX Crew Dragon Returning Home, Undocking from ISS Begins
In the interim, NASA had to pay the Russians as much as $80 million per seat to send US astronauts on Soyuz capsules. Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken undocked from the Space Station at 7:34pm EDT and are now on their return back to Earth.

The Brazilian winger is wanted by several clubs around Europe, including Arsenal and Barcelona. It is his decision.

"It is his decision, I haven't got that answer", Lampard said.

"He has been brilliant for me this season with his input and work ethic, within the squad. He has been a great servant for Chelsea if he decides to move on, and if he does decide to move on then Chelsea will move on and we have to look forwards ourselves".

In basic terms, Arsenal won this weekend's FA Cup final because they had the only established world-class attacker on the pitch.

"We played our game, we were on top of them against a very good side but today we couldn't do it for 90 minutes and, in the end, that makes the difference".

"There were unknowns, transfer ban, other clubs around us are moving forward with recruitment". We have lost a final and that is frustrating. I would like to think the Premier League will look seriously at that and look at the start for next season. "Today showed there is plenty of room to get better".
