Kaepernick shirt used as a target at Navy Seal event

Navy SEALs launch investigation after dog demonstration used Colin Kaepernick jersey to slam protests

The U.S. Navy is investigating an incident in which dogs attacked a "Colin Kaepernick stand-in" during a K-9 demonstration during a 2019 fundraiser at the Navy Seals Museum in Florida.

Kaepernick became a controversial figure for some when he began taking the knee during the United States national anthem in 2016 to protest against police brutality and racism. As he lies on the ground, he says "Oh man, I'll stand", eliciting laughter from the watching crowd.

The videos were initially shared on Instagram but were widely circulated again over the weekend on Twitter, causing the official Navy Seals account to issue a statement vowing it would investigate the incident.

The Navy videos were posted on Instagram a year ago and resurfaced over the weekend. They said they believe that none of the participants were active duty Navy personnel.

"The inherent message of this video is completely inconsistent with the values and ethos of Naval Special Warfare and the U.S. Navy, " wrote the command, which oversees the Navy's special operations forces, including SEALS. In the demonstration, the target is wearing a Colin Kaepernick jersey, ' the statement said.

GOP, Democrats report progress on relief package talks
The White House quickly abandoned it and began pushing for some kind of short-term fix for the unemployment benefits. McConnell set up votes next week on Republican proposals to extend the lapsed supplemental unemployment insurance.

Fox News reached out to the Navy SEAL Museum for comment.

It is still unclear just who was training the dogs, and the Navy is investigating whether or not the dogs belong to the Navy SEALs.

There has been so much hate thrown towards Colin Kaepernick since he chose to kneel during the National Anthem back in 2016 that it's not shocking that something as despicable as the next story didn't get the press that it should've when it happened.

The initiative was picked up by fellow National Football League players and others across numerous sports, and has been reignited following the death of George Floyd at the hands of police in Minneapolis in May.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell released a video in June apologizing on behalf of the NFL for not doing a better job of listening to players' concerns on racial inequality.
