The latest national data shows that 26,162 confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the country since the beginning of the outbreak, while 1,763 Covid-19 related deaths have been reported.

There are two patients with suspected cases of Covid-19 being treated in hospital in Laois.

In Kildare, where there was 6 new cases, there have been recent clusters linked to a dog food factory in Naas and a direct provision centre in Newbridge.

Chippewa County is reporting 209 cases and 0 deaths.

"Over the last five days we have seen an average of 44 cases a day".

Four people with confirmed Covid-19 and three people with suspected Covid-19 were being treated at critical care units.
