CD Projekt Red warns Cyberpunk 2077 fans about beta scam

Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt have stated in the past that no beta for the game will be made available before its release, but the scammers clearly didn't get that memo.

Cyberpunk 2077 developers CD Projekt Red have confirmed that they now have no plans to release a beta for their highly anticipated game, meaning you're out of luck if you were hoping to play the game before it launches on November 19th. And it is that despite the fact that some users have received an email in which they are assured that they have been chosen to enjoy the beta, nothing is further from reality. Apparently, some ne'er-do-well has been reaching out to fans and content creators claiming to be working with the studio, but genuine messaging will always come from CDPR's own email accounts. That hasn't changed; the company repeated its stance on the matter, stating once again that they "do not have plans" for a beta of any sort prior to the game's late 2020 launch.

Cyberpunk 2077, an open-world RPG set in a dystopian world, has been in development since at least 2012 when it was first announced as a follow-up to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Presumably, these e-mails are being used as some sort of scam.

That's until Five understands the roads of Dallas are inhabited by Allied troops, and JFK has formally declared war on these. Last we saw of the seven siblings, they were transported by Number Five (Aiden Gallagher) into a time unknown to all.

Indeed, these scams aren't restricted to just beta access.

Cyberpunk 2077 is slated for release on PS4, PC and Xbox One on November 19, having been delayed twice already.

Earlier today, CD Projekt RED took to their official twitter account to address growing concerns surrounding a bunch of pretty fishy looking emails claiming to be from the developer.
