Taylor Swift Accused of Stealing Logo From Black Designer

Amira Rasool, creator of the internet merchant The Folklore, accused the pop superstar a week of selling product that ripped off the emblem of her firm, that sells clothing, accessories and other goods by artists from Africa and the diaspora.

Swift also responded to Rasool in a tweet on Thursday that read, "Amira, I admire the work you're doing and I'm happy to make a contribution to your company and to support the Black in Fashion Council (launching on 8/3) with a donation @thefolklore @amirarasool @bifcglobal #blackinfashioncouncil".

Last week, Taylor surprised fans with from her surprise album, folklore, which dropped just last week.

Rasool posted about the similar logos on her Instagram page last week.

Soon after, merchandise for the album went on sale - all of it featuring a logo that looked quite alike to that of the logo for The Folklore, a fashion retailer focused on African brands. After the merchandise was altered, Rasool commended Swift and her team "for recognizing the damage the merchandise caused to my company's brand".

"Taylor, for her part, took swift action (had to), issuing a statement to Good Morning America saying they'd stopped production on merchandise displaying "the folklore", rather than 'folklore".

Swift's choice to shake off it and proper course stands compared to the manner that Girl A, previously called Lady Antebellum, managed a similar circumstance.
