Man City agree deal to sign Bournemouth’s Ake

AFC Bournemouth v Newcastle United- Premier League

Former Premier League defender Stephen Warnock does not believe that Nathan Ake is the leader Manchester City need at the back.

City finished the 2019/20 campaign with comfortably the best attack in the country, netting 102 times this season, while they only conceded two more goals than league winners Liverpool.

BBC reporter Kris Temple stated that Manchester City's offer of £41 million had been accepted by Bournemouth.

Ake joined Bournemouth on a permanent deal from the Blues in 2017 for £20m.

There was expected to be strong interest in the 25-year-old this summer, with his departure becoming nearly inevitable when Bournemouth's relegation was confirmed last weekend.

Bournemouth were relegated from the Premier League on Sunday and Ake is one of the players who were expected to move in order to continue playing in the top flight.

The roofline and rear quarter appears softer than the hard-edged H2 SUV of yore, and the roofline appears lower. Instead of bringing back HUMMER as a standalone brand, GM opted to make it a model line sold under GMC .

If they manage to complete the deal, City would have beaten rivals United to Ake's signature as the Red Devils were also intent on signing him.

Hampered by a long-term injury to Aymeric Laporte and the disappointing form of John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi, City boss Pep Guardiola was forced to deploy Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho at centre-back.

City's sometimes leaky defence over the past season resulted in City prioritising the signing of a reliable centre-half this summer and the club had identified a number of potential targets, such as Napoli stalwart Kalidou Koulibaly.

"I think next season and everything beyond it will take care of itself".

It's said £40 million will be paid upfront, with a further £1 million following as part of add-ons in the deal.
