Why Sia Feels 'Terrible Shame' About Throwing Maddie Ziegler Into Spotlight

Sia and Harvey Weinstein

Overnight, Sia has revealed that she once stopped her frequent collaborator Maddie Ziegler from taking a plane with disgraced film producer and convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein.

"You know I kept her off a plane that Harvey Weinstein tried to get her on". She called the experience "really disgusting", and added, "When he invited her, that's when I told Melissa, I just said, 'Please don't, do not do that, do not do that, do not do that'".

The Cheap Thrills hitmaker explained it was her maternal instinct which made her step in when Harvey, 68, invited Maddie, now 17, to join him on a plane. "She said, 'No, I just love performing".

Since then, the teenager's career has continued to soar with her appearing in films, television, and concerts, covering fashion magazines, and even releasing her own memoir, The Maddie Diaries. "The irony is, I didn't want to be famous, and I threw this child into the spotlight".

Sia said she once stopped Maddie Ziegler from boarding a plane with disgraced filmmaker Harvey Weinstein, who is now serving a 23-year prison sentence for rape and sexual assault. "My bodyguard jokes that if I ever stop doing my singing thing, I should be a bodyguard because I'm so hyper-vigilant around Maddie". I would never be so presumptuous to say I feel like I'm her mother because I did not do all the hard work that Melissa did for the first 11 years.

Washington Redskins Say Team Name Will Undergo A 'Thorough Review'
The third sponsor, PepsiCo, added its own statement on Friday morning , saying the company "believe (s) it is time for a change". At the turn of the millennium, FedEx paid $205m (£165m) for the naming rights to the Redskins' 82,000-seat stadium in Maryland.

But Maddie knew what she wanted, sharing that she had her sights set on acting and dancing. It's not good for her long term credibility.

"I just try and help guide", Sia said of helping Ziegler's with her career choices.

Sia has worked with actress and dancer Maddie Ziegler since she was 11 years old. "I think her manager thinks I'm a real pain in the butt, I'm sure".

Sia recently became a grandmother for the first time.

Sia has been celebrating good news of her own, after announcing she's become a grandmother at the age of 44 - just weeks after announcing she adopted two sons past year. "That's the most I can do really and that I'm always here for if she wants to cry or has a bad day or has questions about life-that's what I'm here for".
