Bournemouth v Newcastle United

Callum Wilson will miss Bournemouth's next two matches after collecting his 10th caution of the season against Wolves

Struggling Bournemouth remain languishing in the Premier League relegation zone after a humiliating 4-1 home defeat to Newcastle extended their winless run to seven games.

Newcastle United scored after just five minutes through Dwight Gayle before Longstaff got his name on the scoresheet to put the Magpies two up on the half-hour mark.

Joshua King, back from an ankle problem to soften the blow of Wilson's absence, headed in after Dominic Solanke's deflected strike came back off the left post but the effort was correctly ruled out.

Dan Gosling claimed an added-time consolation with the hosts' first goal since football resumed following the coronavirus pandemic but, on this evidence, there is little to suggest they can extend their Premier League stay to a sixth season.

Not only did he terrorise the Bournemouth defence with his flair, but he also managed to create three of the four goals Newcastle scored today.

Newcastle: Dubravka (7), Krafth (7), Fernandez (7), Lascelles (8), Manquillo (7), S. Longstaff (8), Bentaleb (7), Shelvey (8), Saint-Maximin (9), Gayle (8), Joelinton (7).

I wasn't anxious what the race was [of] the mob that came through my gate, I was anxious that I was going to be killed. Louis America , McCloskey and his wife are now under investigation for the Sunday incident with St.

New owners can hopefully deliver both of those but in the meantime, we need Mike Ashley to give Allan Saint-Maximin the reward of a new contract in the meantime.

Bournemouth's woeful lack of attacking intent means they've barely laid a glove on opponents since the league's restart and, potentially without their two main strikers, it's hard to see that changing here.

Bournemouth failed to produce an attempt on target in the first half and was denied a flying start to the second by an offside flag.

Newcastle will be hoping to finish the season strongly and break into the top half of the table. "I am happy because my team has won", the Frenchman told Sky Sports.

Head coach Bruce said: "This year they've been blighted with big injuries and when that happens to you, you think everything is against you because you miss four of five of your big players for a long, long period and it becomes hard, and certainly they've had a hard period".

Bournemouth have suffered 16 defeats in their last 21 Premier League matches (W3 D2), losing all the last four in a row. Every game is like a final because we want to move up if possible.
