NASCAR Investigating After A Noose Was Found Inside Bubba Wallace's Garage Stall

Confederate Flag

Once the auto was placed in the front of the field, Wallace climbed out of his vehicle, only to lay his head on the top of his vehicle and allow his tears to fall.

Early Monday, a noose was found in Wallace's team's auto garage stall. NASCAR denounced the noose incident and said it was launching an investigation into the matter.

Only essential personnel were allowed in the garage, said Phelps, who said he had informed Wallace about what had happened.

"I know that the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation has informed the Birmingham office to use all their resources to find it as well". There is no room for this at all and we won't tolerate it. "I ask the NASCAR family to rally around Bubba and his team as they compete today, and I know that there are more people who are wishing him well today than ever before".

Due to rain, the race was postponed and a few hours later, NASCAR said the noose was found.

The message #IStandWithBubba was painted on the infield grass at the Superspeedway.

Detroit cop plows into crowd during Black Lives Matter rally
The protest started around 4:30 p.m . in response to the death of George Floyd, the Detroit News reported. One of the protesters said the officer "ran over a couple people's arms, feet".

"We want to make sure that Bubba is safe and we have stepped up security", confirmed Phelps, adding he had personally told Wallace about the noose on Sunday.

"This is a family that needs to take care of one of its family members whose been attacked". The incident follows NASCAR's decision to ban Confederate flags from its races and venues, a move that Wallace championed as the only full-time Black driver in NASCAR's top series.

The move comes amid calls for racial justice in the wake of the death of George Floyd, a black man, who was killed by a white former police officer in Minneapolis last month.

The racist symbol was found Sunday but sources say, Wallace never saw it himself.

Wallace recently made headlines when he called for NASCAR to ban the Confederate flag, which it did less than two weeks ago.

Ahead of the Cup Series race on Sunday, protesters were seen flying Confederate flags in a parade outside Talladega Superspeedway. I do worry about Bubba.
