Daylight shooting in downtown Toronto leaves man dead, boy and woman injured

Toronto police block off a scene behind Ted Reeve Community Arena

Toronto police and emergency crews are now on the scene.

This all unfolded in the area of the Bisha Hotel near King and Peter.

Emergency crews were called to the Ted Reeve Community Arena property, near Main Street and Gerrard Street East, at around 5 p.m. on Wednesday with reports of a shooting.

When the victims were making their way into another vehicle, the suspect vehicle made a U-turn, a person got out from the passenger's side and began firing shots.

Toronto police confirmed that a 21-year-old man died as a result of the shooting.

Saunders said police have recovered one firearm and were searching for suspects in a blue vehicle. A boy, 15, and a woman, 27, were also injured in the shooting, which police have characterized as a targeted attack. It is unclear how many occupants were in each vehicle. The victims ran southbound as they were being fired upon.

Ford says province will take over homes listed in military's report
The COVID deployment has exposed military members to both the conditions seniors are living in as well as to the virus. He also noted that the province would be referring specific cases to the police for possible criminal charges.

"The bottom line is, there's a lot of evidence that we have gleaned so far", Saunders said on Tuesday.

"We don't know where the victims were coming from".

The other vehicle also left the scene and police are trying to locate both. He said it is early in the investigation but the case is "very solvable".

After news of his tragic death broke, tons of fans and fellow hip hop figures took to social media with messages of mourning, including fellow Toronto native, Tory Lanez.

People were seen screaming and running from the scene. Toronto police later corrected the age of the male to 21 years old.
