Trump, Jeff Sessions feud on Twitter

Trump Sessions

Trump has targeted https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-sessions-idUSKBN1A51X7 Sessions for retribution since Sessions recused himself in 2017 from a us probe into Russian election meddling.

"Mr. President, Alabama can and does trust me, as do conservatives across the country", Sessions wrote.

That was apparently the final straw for the long-suffering Sessions, who had meekly tolerated his former boss's attacks up until that point.

"Look, I know your anger", he tweeted. "Perhaps you've forgotten. They trusted me when I stepped out and put that trust on the line for you". "It protected the rule of law & resulted in your exoneration", Sessions tweeted in response to Trump.

Sessions responded to the president, saying on Twitter, "Your personal feelings don't dictate who Alabama picks as their senator, the people of Alabama do".

Trump's message was part of his retweet of a Tuberville message from last Sunday in which Tuberville said Sessions had thrown Trump "to the wolves with the Mueller appointment".

The victor of the Sessions-Tuberville runoff will face Democratic incumbent Sen.

There are fewer than 500 active cases of the disease on the island - that number has remained steady for roughly two weeks. They said the tour is off. "A lot of it has been done on one-on-one basis with our players", Arthur had said.

Sessions, once a loyal ally of Trump, has been trying to win back the president's favor ever since March 2017, when he recused himself from the Department of Justice's investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

Sessions represented Alabama in the Senate for 20 years before joining the Trump administration in 2017.

"Jeff Sessions quit on the President and he failed Alabama". Doug Jones (D) in the election and regain his former Senate seat.

Sessions was sacked just one day after the 2018 midterm elections, and he's now facing off against Tuberville in Alabama's Republican Senate primary.

No special counsel probe would have happened if William Barr, the current attorney general, was serving in the position at the time Sessions was, Trump asserted in early May. Tuberville has begun airing ads featuring Trump's criticisms of Sessions.

Still addressing his former master, Sessions said Tuberville was "a coward who is rightly too afraid to debate me".

The latest rift between Trump and Sessions first began on May 8, when Trump - during an interview on Fox & Friends - claimed that Sessions "begged" him for the job.
