Missing 18-Year-Old Ohio Teen’s Car Keys and Cellphone Found

"I'll be right back, ' and I was like, 'Okay, be careful.' She left and I haven't heard from her since", her mother, Melissa Montavon, told the outlet. Deputies found her keys in the ignition and her cellphone on the seat.

When Madison, known to her family and friends as 'Maddie, ' did not return home from the tanning salon after about an hour, her mother started texting and calling her, but received no response. According to Bell's mother, Melissa Montavon, her daughter's keys were still in the ignition, the auto was unlocked, and the windows were up.

Madison Bell, of Greenfield, vanished Sunday after telling her mother she was going to a tanning salon that had reopened after easing statewide coronavirus lockdown measures.

Madison Bell told her mother she was going to a tanning salon but never arrived at the business.

Authorities describe Bell as standing 5-foot, 6-inches tall and weighing 120 to 125 pounds with browns hair and brown eyes. She also has gray contact lenses, a cross tattoo on her neck, and a ghost tattoo on her side.

Area residents hold candles during a prayer vigil held Wednesday night at the Greenfield Church of Christ for missing 18-year-old McClain High School senior Madison Bell. She was a graduating senior.

Melissa Bell hasn't slept since Sunday. I mean, I can't even explain it...

"I'll see you when you get back is the last thing I got to say", he added.

Highland County Sheriff Donnie Barrera said Bell's case is an active investigation and detectives are now following leads.

However, the Highland County Sheriff's Office now says that Madison has been in contact to confirm that she is safe and left of her own free will, but does not want her location disclosed.

Investigators were looking into a white vehicle with a California number plate parked in the same church parking lot where Madison's auto was found, but Highland County Sheriff Donnie Barrera told CNN there have been no new leads on the case. He was reportedly wearing a polo shirt and owned a white vehicle with California license plates.

"To them, this is personal", said Nestor.
