Messi And Guardiola Both Donate €1million To Front Line Efforts

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has made a donation of £920 000 (US$ 1,090,650) to a hospital in his native Barcelona to help in the fight against the novel coronavirus.

In Spain, the situation has got worse as well.

The fund is named after a doctor from Santpedor - the town Guardiola hails from - who passed away in the 1970s.

The Manchester City manager has earmarked the money, sent to the Angel Soler Daniel Foundation, to be spent on purchasing medical equipment.

It will go towards buying medical equipment and protective material for hospital staff in Catalonia.

Catalonia, along with most of Spain, has been severely affected the spread of the virus, with the country totaling 2,696 deaths so far.

"Pep Guardiola has made a donation of one million euros to the Fundacio Angel Soler Daniel for the acquisition and supply of health equipment to deal with the Covid-19 [coronavirus] pandemic", the Foundation announced in a statement, according to Sky Sports.

Ronaldo have donated money for patients suffering from coronavirus at hospitals in Lisbon and Porto.
