Clippers owner says he has agreement to buy Los Angeles Forum arena

The Forum in Inglewood former home to the Lakers and Kings

The deal clears a major obstacle in the Clippers' mission to construct a new arena in Inglewood, which Ballmer has pushed for since purchasing the franchise for $2 billion in 2014.

"This is the best resolution for all parties involved and we wish the new owners every success", the group said in a statement.

The team announced as much in a press release on Tuesday, per NBC, with the agreement revealed to be between Balmer's newly-formed company, CAPSS LLC, and the Madison Square Garden Company owned by Dolan.

According to Marc Stein of the New York Times, the Madison Square Garden Company has sold The Forum in Inglewood, CA to Steve Ballmer and the Los Angeles Clippers.

Apparently fearing competition for concerts and other big events, MSG has been aggressively attempting to thwart Ballmer's desire to build a state-of-the-art, 18,000-seat home for the Clippers just a few blocks down Prairie Avenue from the Forum.

It can also be a good sign for doctors and nurses to know early on. "I didn't even think it could be related ", he says . In my practice, patients all around me are reporting this. "Therefore, there are lots of carriers around".

The Clippers, meanwhile, have always been trying to step out of the shadows of its crosstown rivals Los Angeles Lakers ever since Ballmer purchased the team in 2014.

"By reaching an agreement with MSG, CAPSS LLC will acquire the Inglewood venue, simultaneously resolving litigation surrounding plans for the new National Basketball Association arena", the release reads.

The venerable hall opened in 1967 as the home of the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers and the NHL's then-expansion Los Angeles Kings - all owned by Jack Kent Cooke. There are no plans to tear down the Forum, the LA Times reported.

The Lakers, who continue to dominate Los Angeles from a popularity standpoint, won six of their 16 championships at the Forum before the move to Staples.
