Newsweek fires reporter Jennifer Kwong over 'inaccurate' Trump Thanksgiving story

A spokesperson for Newsweek confirmed to TheWrap on Monday that an editor has been "demoted" as part of the ongoing fallout stemming from a controversial Thanksgiving article titled "How is Trump Spending Thanksgiving?"

A Newsweek reporter turned into once fired for writing a chunk of writing that claimed President Trump will likely be "Tweeting, golfing and further" on Thanksgiving ahead of the commander-in-chief made an unannounced talk to to Afghanistan to talk to United States troops on the walk.

Kwong said on social media it was "an honest mistake". "Tweeting, golfing - and surprising USA troops in Afghanistan" - and incorporated a screen.

Newsweek added that it will continue to review its processes and "take further action" if required.
