White House will not show up to Wednesday's impeachment hearing

The Wednesday hearing will include legal experts as witnesses and is titled, "The Impeachment Inquiry into President Donald J. Trump: Constitutional Grounds for Presidential Impeachment", as Democrats in the House decide whether to draft articles of impeachment.

The White House on Sunday notified House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NJ) that they would not be participating in the Committee's impeachment hearings scheduled for Wednesday.

Bayh predicted that the House will likely impeach Trump, then the Senate "will nearly surely acquit him", leaving the decision to the voters anyway.

Nadler detailed "a months-long effort in which President Trump again sought foreign interference in our elections for his personal and political benefit at the expense of our national interest".

"Schiff has put himself into that position", Collins said.

"Why would they want to participate in just another rerun?" asked Collins, D-Ga., noting that the Judiciary Committee previously heard from constitutional scholars on impeachable offences during special counsel Robert Mueller's Russian Federation investigation. Trump said on Twitter.

Pressed on whether impeaching Mr. Trump was written into Democrats' "playbook" from the start of this presidency, Mr. Jeffries said the House is a co-equal branch that must serve as a check on wrongdoing.

The House Judiciary Committee could vote on whether to recommend articles of impeachment within the next two weeks, setting the stage for a possible impeachment vote by the full House before Christmas, according to Democratic aides.

Coming after two weeks of public testimony, the findings of the House Intelligence Committee report are not yet publicly known.

USA online Black Friday sales hit record $7.4 billion
Friday was also the largest day for mobile shopping with $2.9 billion in sales coming from smartphones. Gadgets, clothing, travel and food and alcohol were expected to be among the most popular purchases.

Not a single House Republican supported establishing the chamber's impeachment process after the recent public hearings. "I think they are trying to work out the details". "That's why this is proceeding. I heard that. I saw that in the press, the suggestions of it", Reeker responded.

Just as Nixon delegated people to get dirt on a political opponent, Klobuchar added, "that's basically what this president has done on a global basis".

Sen. John Neely Kennedy, R-La., meanwhile, argued that both Russian Federation and Ukraine interfered in the 2016 presidential election, despite the intelligence community's assessment that only Russian Federation did so.

The comments mark Kennedy's latest attempt to shift the focus away from the USA intelligence community's conclusion that Russian Federation worked to help elect Trump, following a Fox News Channel interview last week from which he later backtracked.

The inquiry was set off by reports that an anonymous intelligence staffer filed a complaint that Trump allegedly misused his power by withholding aid to Ukraine in favor of politically advantageous investigations, which Trump and officials in Kyiv have denied.

Todd pressed Kennedy on whether he was concerned that he had been "duped" by Russian propaganda, noting reports that USA intelligence officials recently briefed senators that "this is a Russian intelligence propaganda campaign in order to get people like you to say these things about Ukraine".

President Trump met Ukrainian President and assistance flowed to Ukraine in September 2019.

"This is a fictional narrative that has been perpetrated and propagated by the Russian security services", she said.
