Hillary Clinton Takes Shot at Tulsi Gabbard

Hillary Clinton speaks onstage

Clinton, the former senator, USA secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential candidate, did not name Gabbard directly.

And it sure sounds like she's making predictions - specifically, that Russian Federation will back a third-party or independent presidential run by Hawaii Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, who's now in the mix for the 2020 Democratic nomination.

Clinton, who lost the 2016 presidential election to Donald Trump, made the comments in an interview with David Plouffe on his Campaign HQ podcast. And I'm not making any predictions, but I think they've got their eye on somebody who's now in the Democratic primary. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) has responded to Hillary Clinton, who this week implied that Gabbard was a favorite of the Russians. "They know they can't win without a third party candidate".

As NewNowNext previously reported, before running for office, Gabbard worked for her father's anti-gay marriage PAC, the Alliance for Traditional Marriage, that worked to pass an amendment to the state's constitution that defined marriage as between a man and a woman.

When Clinton's camp was asked to confirm whether she was indeed referring to Gabbard in her remarks on Plouffe's podcast, spokesperson Nick Merrill responded, "If the nesting doll fits."
"Yes, she's a Russian asset, I mean, totally". "She's also a Russian asset". The news outlet reported last week that some Democrats worry about Russian bot influence due to Gabbard's apparent popularity on and mentions in Russian news media and on such places as 4chan, an online message board popular with right-wing groups. She accused 2016 Green Party nominee Jill Stein of being a "Russian asset".

18 killed in 2 blasts in mosque in Afghanistan
This is change from the first six months of the year, when Afghan and United States forces killed more civilians. The mosque sits in the district of Haska Mina, about 50km (30 miles) from the provincial capital Jalalabad.

Gabbard has rejected some of the support from rightwing or white nationalist sources, and during last week's Democratic debate she chastised the Times for publishing "smears" and said television commentators calling her a Russian asset were "completely despicable".

Earlier this year, Gabbard vowed not to run as a third-party candidate if she does not win the Democratic nomination.

"It's now clear that this primary is between you and me", Gabbard tweeted.

"I've ruled that out", she told CNN in August. Join the race directly.

"Hillary's comments about Tulsi just make totally clear how ridiculous the Russian Federation conspiracy crowd has become", said journalist Krystal Ball. She went on to say that Trump's inauguration speech was "like a declaration of war on half of America". "This is reality", Merrill said.
