Crackdown announced after Alec Baldwin falls for tour 'scam'

Alec Baldwin is seen leaving Manhattan Criminal Court after his arraignment

Alec Baldwin shared a photo of his ticket on Instangram.

Baldwin says he fell for a scam Statue of Liberty tour where he says he bought $40 tickets for a boat tour of the Statue of Liberty for his family but was instead escorted to a shuttle bus to New Jersey.

The 61-year-old star thought he was buying Statue of Liberty tour tickets for himself, his wife, Hilaria, and their four youngest children - daughter Carmen and sons Rafael, Leonardo, and baby Romeo when they arrived in Battery Park in downtown Manhattan. A ticket seller directed Baldwin to an unauthorized bus stop on West Street just north of Battery Park, where he was told to take a shuttle bus to a boat in New Jersey, the post continues. Baldwin said, after ultimately opting for a free ride on the Staten Island Ferry.

"I kid you not".

"We paid, then we read the tickets", he wrote on the post. NO [ONE] EVER MENTIONED NEW F***ING JERSEY!' Baldwin wrote in an Instagram post about the debacle.

He added: 'Take the SI Ferry.

Reviews show that the bus riders can spend over three hours on the journey, which never actually brings them to the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor.

He may have gotten taken for a ride like a New York City tourist - but Alec Baldwin had the red carpet rolled out for him and his kin while cruising on the Staten Island Ferry. Hilaria, 35, posted the evidence that they did, in fact, end up seeing the Statue of Liberty. The city's Department of Consumer and Worker Protection is also finalizing new rules that require sellers to clearly state on tickets whether their boat will actually land at Liberty and Ellis islands, and the NYC Economic Development Corporation is continuing its ban of companies from city berths that utilize the deceptive ticket sellers.

The only company allowed to access Liberty Island is Statue Cruises, the city said.
