Texas airport watches as pilot son returns remains of Vietnam vet father

More than 50 years after he disappeared in a war zone, the remains of a north Texas fighter pilot are finally home.

Bryan Knight used to watch every prisoner of war step off their planes when they returned to the USA during the Vietnam War, hoping one of them would be his dad.

"Today the pilot of the plane bringing Capt. Knight back to Dallas is his son", he wrote.

Earlier this year, human remains were discovered near the crash site.

"How many people would ever have the opportunity to do this", Knight said.

His son, Bryan, was just 5 when he saw his father off to war at the same airport. His son Bryan, who flew his father home on Thursday, was born in France during this period, while his father was stationed in Toul-Rosieres. "As we were walking back to the auto, my mother was just sobbing, and that scared me".

Roy Knight Jr. was shot down during a combat mission on the Ho Chi Minh Trail in Laos in May 1967.

Over the next three years, the operating system will be used in other devices, including wearables and auto head units. Richard Yu, Huawei's Consumer Business Group CEO, stated that the new OS will run "faster and safer" than Android .

That was the last time he saw his father.

"Our Southwest Airlines family is honoured to support his long-hoped homecoming and join in tribute to Col Knight as well as every other military hero who has paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the armed forces". He was listed as "missing in action", and promoted to colonel, before the designation was changed to "killed in action" in 1974. They were first flown to Honolulu, and then transferred to an Oakland, California-bound Southwest Flight, Business Insider reported.

On Thursday, his flight home to Dallas aboard a Southwest Airline flight inspired an impromptu moment of silence in the terminal.

An honor guard from the Air Force met the plane at Love Field along with Southwest crew members who took a moment to pay their respects.

Because of the layover, Proskow got to see the return of the remains of Col. Roy Knight Jr. Airport firetrucks performed a water salute as the airplane arrived at the gate.

ABC News affiliate WFAA-TV in Dallas, Texas, said a funeral service with full military honors was scheduled for Saturday.
