Prince Charles jokes with George and Amal Clooney at Buckingham Palace event

And true to form, the genetically blessed duo were in the presence of real life royalty as they joined Prince Charles for a dinner at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday night.

They famously appeared at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding in May past year and Amal attended Meghan's NYC baby shower last month.

Never one to opt for standard fare, Amal, 41, showcased her sartorial prowess in a chic, one-shoulder gown by Jean-Louis Scherrer for Stephane Rolland. A metallic box clutch and diamond earrings completed the ensemble.

She was seen shaking hands with Prince Charles, who was hosting the reception for his youth charity, The Prince's Trust.

First, they're close with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle (who were unfortunately missing from today's dinner); they attended the couple's wedding last May and reportedly hosted them their home on Lake Como last summer. The organisation works with number celebrity ambassadors, including Tom Hardy and Idris Elba, who weren't photographed at the event.

Mets Option Rhame and Sewald, Reassign Gimenez and Tebow to Minors
He owns a career slash line of.244/.319/.367 with 14 homers, 38 doubles, and 88 RBIs. He went 4-for-15 and had an RBI for the Mets in Grapefruit League action.

A-list actors Josh Hartnett, Tamsin Egerton and Benedict Cumberbatch also attended the event.

The Clooneys have the ultimate trump card, however, due to their close friendship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, whose baby shower Amal attended in NY in February.

The heavily pregnant Duchess is said to have flown roundtrip on the Clooneys private jet for her lavish five day baby shower in NY last month.

The human rights lawyer, who is married to Hollywood's George Clooney, wore a flowing white gown from specialty vintage clothing label, William Vintage. The high-profile lawyer wore a bright red jumpsuit by Sergio Hudson with gold Gianvito Rossi pumps, despite the dreary, snowy weather.
