Plane makes emergency landing over passenger's body odour

A Transavia Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing in Portugal after a foul-smelling passenger caused several people on the plane to become physically ill.

Belgian passenger Piet van Haut who was on board the flight described the smell of the man as "unbearable".

The plane was carrying groups of holiday makers to the Spanish island of Gran Canaria, when a lot of them began to faint and vomit due to a smelly passenger.

But for one Transavia flight that was travelling from the Netherlands to Spain, the "emergency" that caused a flight diversion was a passenger's "unbearable" body odour.

At one point, flight crew reportedly tried to quarantine the "unwashed" man in a toilet before the pilots made a decision to divert the flight.

Many planes have been forced to make emergency landings due to medical emergencies or technical difficulties. However, even that wasn't enough, forcing the pilots to make an emergency landing in Faro, Portugal.

Johnny Depp Stops to Sign Autographs for Fans in Germany
But not all reactions posted were positive, with floods of fans commenting on how "weak" and "skinny" the star looked. Depp has had a rough couple of years, following a the death of his mother and a messy split from Amber Heard.

He stated: "It was as if he had not bathed for several weeks".

A picture taken by one of the passengers shows medical personnel escorting the man from the aeroplane into a bus.

A Transavia spokesman said: "The plane has changed direction because of medical reasons, but it is true that it smells a little".

It is unknown what medical condition - if any - the man suffered from.

The plane eventually made it to Amsterdam, some two hours after it was scheduled to land. In February, a fight broke out between two men on a flight from Dubai to Amsterdam after one traveler kept breaking wind, despite repeated requests for him to stop.
