Telstra Is Having Major Outages With iMessage And FaceTime

Some Australian users weren't able to use iMessage or Facetime

Telstra has confirmed they're now experiencing a disruption affecting some customers trying to send and receive iMessage's.

"Earlier today, some customers experienced a disruption to Apple iMessage and FaceTime services".

Telstra customers are reporting issues with their iPhone iMessage service. We worked with Apple to resolve this issue.

The company said it has since resolved the issue. Services are now being progressively being restored. "We're sorry for the inconvenience".

Aussie Outages shows reports mostly originate from: Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Parramatta, Drummoyne, New Farm, North Sydney, and Abbotsford.

A mass Telstra outage has prevented customers across the country from sending or receiving iMessages on Wednesday.

"We will provide an update as soon as possible".

The telco says people should still be able to use standard SMS texts.

Users on Twitter report that the outage has been ongoing for the last few hours (it's now a little past noon there), and it's unclear when a fix will be available.

Telstra has advised iMessage and Facetime are not working.
