White House Only Commits To 'Review' Of Dems' Memo

Trump's name-calling of Schiff is a sign that the president is nervous about aspects of the Democratic memo exposing flaws in the Republican document released last week.

Schiff was the target of Trump's ire earlier Monday, with the president coining a new nickname for the California Democrat.

"I really hope it does", she says. Even as Democrats described it as inaccurate, some Republicans quickly cited the memo - released over the objections of the FBI and Justice Department - in their arguments that Mueller's investigation is politically tainted. So it's going to be sent to the president, who will have five days to decide whether to make it public or not. Republicans leaving the closed-door meeting on Monday said they support its release, which is now in the hands of the White House. "In my view, public release of the memo is the fulfillment of these oversight responsibilities".

Texas Republican Rep. Mike Conaway, a leader of the panel's Russian Federation probe, said after the vote that parts of the document should not be released. It's potentially larger because of what the Republican allegations say about the process for obtaining Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrants. "Moreover, the matter should not be taken as undermining the work of Special Counsel Mueller". His office rebuts that claim, saying the real abuse of power was using unverified information bought and paid for by one political campaign to justify government surveillance of former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser Carter Page.

"There are things in the memo that I would be uncomfortable with if the White House did not redact", he said.

Mr Durbin contested the suggestion that the FBI's application to a special court for authority to conduct surveillance on Mr Page failed to note that the request was based partly on a dossier funded by Democrats.

If the House Intelligence Committee approves the release of the Democratic memo, it is expected to go to the Justice Department for redactions.

It increased, as 23 investors sold Ebix, Inc. shares while 42 reduced holdings. 93 funds opened positions while 240 raised stakes. The stock is now moving below its 20-Day Simple Moving Average of -3.18% with a 50-Day Simple Moving Average of 2.46 percent.

"That's why we're going to insist that the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation report to us on the redactions they think are necessary, so that we can segregate any political interference from the White House", Schiff said. Should Trump refuse to declassify the Democratic version, a standoff between the White House and Democrats could follow.

Much of this GOP memo - which was sent to the Justice Department in January - dovetails into the arguments being presented by Republicans and President Donald Trump, that Democratic Party opponents of the President were using Steele to feed information to the FBI, during the early time of the Russian Federation investigation.

A ballyhooed memo released Friday by Republicans controlling the House Intelligence Committee - with the assent of the president - does not shed any light on the situation. They want to know who was involved, especially anyone connected to the current president, and about any wrongdoing uncovered as this troubling chapter in America's history is investigated.

Democrats feared Trump would use the memo as a pretext for firing senior officials and subvert the investigation, led by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, into Russia's meddling in the 2016 U.S. election and possible coordination between Trump's camp and Moscow.

Schiff responded to Trump with a tweet of his own. The president said that document totally vindicates him - no collusion, no obstruction of justice.

As a second week of memo-watching commenced, the committee also prepared to interview Steve Bannon, Trump's former chief strategist.

"The lesson here for Trump is that he is dealing with grown-ups now, and Adam Schiff isn't going to play with him", Easley wrote.
