SpaceX are going to test out their astronaut escape system in January

SpaceX to detonate a Falcon 9 rocket moments after launch

SpaceX are in preparation for their Crew Dragon launch and before the launch gets underway some crucial tests need to be carried out.

One of those tests are for Crew Dragon's launch escape system. The spacecraft, Crew Dragon, will intentionally eject itself from a rocket as it blazes toward space in order to simulate how it will carry passengers to safety if something goes awry during launch.

SpaceX tweeted about a hot-fire test for the Falcon 9 rocket, that took place on January 11 at NASA's Launch Complex 39A at the Kennedy Space Station. Crew Dragon will bring astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS) and take the cancellation test of the spacecraft. Crew Dragon made a historic success last March by flying to one of the outpost orbit outposts (Demo-1 flight). However, that capsule exploded throughout work on floor assessments of the abort system a month later.

After upgrades to prevent a similar failure from happening again, SpaceX performed a series of ground-based abort system tests that cleared the way for Saturday's test.

SpaceX is edging closer to putting humans aboard Crew Dragon. During Saturday's test, that will happen about 90 seconds after liftoff, after which the Falcon 9's first stage engines will shut down. The thrusters will push the Crew Dragon a ways from the Falcon 9, where it'll deploy its parachutes and - optimistically - safely splash down within the Atlantic Ocean. A recovery vessel will wait nearby to transport it to a safe location.

FIRE FIGHT AUSTRALIA will kick off from 1pm and run till late at ANZ Stadium , Sydney Olympic Park on Sunday 16 February 2020. Rolling Stone said Lang will perform two songs, including her rendition of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah".

SpaceX's GO Searcher restoration ship will likely be available to retrieve the Crew Dragon, however, do not count on to see a superior rocket landing.

SpaceX is preparing to perform an important test in collaboration with NASA. It is created to safeguard astronauts during the launch.

NASA has signed contracts with SpaceX and Boeing to build private spacecraft to fly astronauts to and from ISS. The opposite firm, Boeing, will use a capsule known as Starliner to make these taxi flights for NASA.

"I'm looking forward to kicking off the new year with this big Crew Dragon milestone", Behnken wrote on Twitter. Liftoff is scheduled for 8 a.m. EST (1300 GMT).
