Sania Mirza makes winning return to tennis court enters women’s doubles quarterfinals at Hobart International

Playing women's doubles during the Hobart International, she won the pre-quarters on Tuesday, along with her partner, Nadiia Kichenok of Ukraine.

Mirza and Kichenok will now face Vania King and Christina McHale of U.S. for a place in the semi-finals.

The unseeded duo will face the American pair of Christina McHale and Vania King in the next round.

However, they pulled things back in the second set, helped by their rivals' inconsistent game.

Both the teams converted three break points each as the set went into a tie-breaker in which Sania and Kichenok nosed ahead of their opponents to draw even.

A trailblazer in Indian tennis, Sania is a former world No.1 in doubles and has six Grand Slam titles to her credit. Returning to the tennis subject after 2 years, Sania and Ukrainian associate Nadia Kitchenok have overwhelmed the pair of Okasana Kalashnikova of Georgia and Miyu Keto of Japan brilliantly.
