MI5 chief dismisses UK-US security fears over Huawei

US officials to visit Britain, pushing for Huawei 5G ban

President Donald Trump is said to be "concerned" about the prospect of Britain using Huawei because he "doesn't want anything to come between" him and Boris Johnson.

Speaking to the Financial Times, US National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien expressed doubts in UK's decision making in this matter, and remarked that country merely viewed Huawei's inclusion to their 5G networks as a commercial decision rather than a national security decision. That's not good enough, according to the USA delegation, who brought to London a dossier of information outlining the security threat such a network would create.

Dismissing US allegations of implied security risks, a Huawei spokesperson was quoted as saying that the company had supplied the United Kingdom for the past 15 years and parliamentary committees established there were no technical reasons for banning it from supplying 5G equipment. "Those things will be taken into account when the government collectively decides to make a decision on it", Wallace said.

Last year, the U.S. banned companies from selling components and technology to Huawei and 68 related companies, citing national security concerns.

The head of MI5, Andrew Parker, told the Financial Times he has "no reason to think" the UK's intelligence-sharing relationship with the USA would be adversely affected if Britain used Huawei technology.

CBS Announces Silence Of The Lambs Spinoff Series Clarice
Of course, the big question we're now left with is who might handle the role that once got Jodie Foster her second Academy Award. Kurtzman will executive produce under his Secret Hideout banner, which is now under a five-year deal at CBS Television Studios.

Speaking at the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit in London last month, Mr Johnson acknowledged that the "key criterion" regarding the company was whether use of its technology would impact the UK's intelligence sharing partnerships.

On the other hand, a Huawei spokesperson told the BBC: "We are a private company which has supplied 3G, 4G and broadband equipment to the UK's telecoms companies for 15 years". Ltd. was unquestionably not right the company to use to build its 5G infrastructure.

The government under former prime minister Theresa May granted the Chinese telecoms giant restricted access to build "non-core" infrastructure such as antennas, but said it would be blocked from involvement in the most sensitive areas of the network.

"The government continues to consider its position on high risk vendors and a decision will be made in due course".
