Samsung Galaxy Bloom name confirmed for incoming foldable flagship

Koh Dong-jin, President and CEO of Samsung's IT & Mobile Communication division explains the company's products to SK Telecom CEO Park Jung-ho at Samsung booth at Consumer Electronics Show 2020 in Las Vegas on Jan. 7 2020

Because foldable phones are a huge emerging market and some of the biggest names in tech are still figuring how best to design them, it's expected Samsung has been working on the Galaxy Fold 2 for a while. The name was reportedly confirmed by the company's head of mobile operations, DJ Koh, at a so-called secret meeting with partners and carriers on the sidelines of the CES 2020 in Las Vegas.

While Samsung did not show off the much leaked Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 in public at CES, it appears the device has had a presence in closed door meetings, where further details have leaked.

Now Huawei chose to respond with information on how its foldable Mate X is doing.

However, as we've long suspected the Samsung Galaxy S11 will make an appearance, it's "Bloom" that's really caught our eye in the URL.

Intriguingly, the report also states that the Galaxy Bloom will not sport a plastic screen like the original Galaxy Fold, but will instead be covered by a new glass material called "UTG" (Ultra Thin Glass).

British lawmakers to decide on Brexit
The Brexit legislation will now go to the House of Lords, where it is set to receive detailed scrutiny from peers. He also insisted that Britain's goal to have a full free trade deal by the end of the year was unrealistic.

As the name suggests, men are not exactly the demographic for the handset, with the design apparently inspired by the shape of Lancombe's make-up compact. Apparently, the company wants to target the new foldable at 20-something women.

Codenames becoming official branding labels nearly never happens, but then again, Galaxy Bloom sure has a nice (and feminine) ring to it, and we always expected the Galaxy Fold 2 to be something entirely different from this Motorola Razr-rivaling bad boy.

This is definitely a positive for Samsung, but there's still not a lot of 8K content out there. Guess we'll just have to wait and watch.
