Corbyn pokes fun at Johnson for 'hiding in fridge' to avoid interview

Prime Minister Boris Johnson during a visit to the Copper Box Arena in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park London while on the General Election campaign trail

Good Morning Britain presenter Piers waded in, hitting out at the Shadow Secretary of State for Education for appearing on the ITV show when he wasn't on it.

Boris Johnson fled from the cameras on Wednesday morning, as his aide swore at a reporter on live television. "Say "Come on Great Morning Britain, prime minister" if you get the chance".

The prime minister had been loading crates of milk and juice bottles onto a supply vehicle in Leeds on his final day of campaigning ahead of day after currently's Overall Election when he modified into as soon as approached by a reporter from ITV.

The Labour MP slated the Conservative party leader after he dodged speaking to a Good Morning Britain reporter today, and also refused to appear on BBC Radio 2 to be interviewed by Jeremy Vine.

"I've just had a reaction from one of the minders".

"OK, no need to push, thank you very much", with Reid exclaiming: "The look on his face, that minder".

Morgan and Reid can be heard expressing their shock before Swain is heard asked Oxley to "tone down your language".

Jeremy Corbyn used what happened to highlight himself on Twitter, writing: "I've not come here to hide in a fridge". As the camera focused on Johnson speaking to the owners of the dairy, Swain conceded that he was not initially scheduled to cover the prime minister's appearance there.

Johnson has been heavily criticised for refusing to do interviews with broadcasters. But the PM fobbed off the crew, telling them he would be "with you in a second" before disappearing into the industrial unit.

The prime minister's campaign took a festive turn as he visited a factory in Hengoed that designs Christmas wrapping paper and crackers.
