A massive fire broke out at a shopping complex in the Nigerian city of Lagos on Tuesday, November 5. Officials haven't yet said if any people were injured in the fire or commented on the cause of the blaze.

The fire which started in the morning created panic in the market with many witnesses sharing videos on social media, showing fire billowing from a building in the crowded market.

The fire occurred at the Mandiillas axis of the popular Balogun market.

Emergency responders, comprising the Lagos Fire Service, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Federal Fire Service, among others, swiftly took charge of the scene to contain the fire incidents from spreading.

But he said the company was fixing the problem and will ensure the MAX is safe once its returned to service. Boeing didn't immediately respond to a request for comment on the letter.

Our correspondent learnt that fire at Idumota raged because the items in the affected shops were highly inflammable.

There was a fire incident in the section of the busy market in February 2017.

Efforts were ongoing to quench the fire at the time of this report.

"There are no casualties, no fatalities and no injuries".
