Air Canada drops 737 Max from flight schedule until February 14

Boeing 737 MAX airplanes are seen parked on Boeing property near Boeing Field in August 2019 in Seattle Washington

United Airlines last week said it was extending cancellations of 737 Max flights until January 6, as regulators continue to extensively review Boeing's proposed software changes to the grounded plane.

FAA Administrator Steve Dickson also wrote to Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg demanding an "immediate" explanation for why the texts had not been turned over sooner.

Boeing described the document as "containing statements by a former Boeing employee" but did not explain its delay in sharing the information with the FAA.

Worldwide regulators have criticized Boeing's communication with FAA over a Max flight system implicated in two crashes that killed 346 people.

"The FAA finds the substance of the document concerning", the agency said in a statement.

Federal prosecutors - aided by the FBI, several blue-ribbon panels and the US Department of Transportation's inspector general - are investigating the 737 MAX's certification.

CEO Muilenburg will face lawmakers for the first time since the crashes in a House transportation committee hearing scheduled for October 30.

On Episode 115 of The Overcast, The Seattle Times weekly politics and news podcast, Gates goes over reporting on allegations that Boeing has brushed aside safety concerns in pursuit of profits. "And based on everything he knew, he absolutely thought this plane was safe".

Gauff's WTA experience didn't start as well as it ended, though. "I'm new to the Tour and I've not faced a lot of the players". Gauff, coached by her father, said she expects to start gaining confidence as she gets more accustomed to the WTA circuit.

In a November 2016 email to an FAA employee whose identity was blacked out, Forkner indicated he was travelling around the world, "jedi-mind tricking regulators into accepting the training that I got accepted by FAA".

About four months after these messages are timestamped, the Federal Aviation Administration would approve the 737 MAX for flight, and the MCAS system was left out of the pilot manual. Pilots were unable to regain control.

Before crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia, MCAS was activated by a faulty sensor and pushed the nose of each plane down. "Things have just tilted very, very heavily in terms of Boeing and deliberate concealment".

Spokesmen for Boeing did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

And they sent shares sharply lower Friday as aviation experts said the revelations could further delay the plane's return to service.

Multiple revelations about software problems and procedural flaws over the past six months have raised doubts that the planes would ever come back into service, as both passengers and pilots appear to have lost all confidence in the model.

Boeing shares tumbled US$25.06, or 6.8 per cent, to close at $344, the stock's worst day since February 2016.
