Jones, director of player personnel for the Cowboys, dismissed a question about whether Garrett is on the hot seat after losing back-to-back games to the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers. Head coach Jason Garrett had a meltdown on the sideline near the end of the third quarter that probably summed his team's day up.

Per the Jets' team site, Darnold said in a radio appearance Monday that his energy has been "awesome" and that he's happy with how he's recovered. The Cowboys averaged 32.3 points in the first three contests before scoring just 34 combined in the pair of losses.

"He's got them playing hard, and we've just got to correct a few things and we'll be back in line".
