Apple Unveils Apple Arcade Game Subscription Details

Story image

So, here are the key details - Apple Arcade will launch on September 19 and you'll just have to shell out $4.99 per month for a family subscription.

Arcade will be available from $4.99 per month in the U.S. with the 1-month free trial.

Apple Arcade was revealed back in March as the company's first step into the crescent subscription-based gaming scene. That subscription provides access to over 100 games across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV, Apple says, all of which feature no ads or in-app purchases and are all playable offline with a single subscription.

The games will also not feature any ads or microtransactions, which is a welcome change to mobile gamers who are usually inundated with numerous ads everywhere, as well as games that constantly push microtransactions into their faces in order to progress the game they are playing faster.

Users will be able to play titles across multiple devices, enabling them to start a game on one platform, then resume their game session on another. The Cupertino giant is giving users access to over 100 game titles across 150+ countries across the globe. Check out more of our coverage from the Apple 2019 fall keynote here. But before we get to the iPhone, Apple wants to talk about its services, and up first is Apple Arcade.

China’s trade with U.S. shrinks as tariff war worsens
The drop comes after a surprise 3.3% rebound in July despite the yearlong battle with Washington and weakening global demand. China's trade surplus with the USA shrunk to $31.3 billion in August, down $27 billion from a year prior.

The company demoed games by Konami, Capcom and Annapurna Interactive at the launch to showcase their catalogue. While these two will focus on the AAA gaming scene, we'll see Apple focusing on more traditional and casual games.

In "The Enchanted World" from Noodlecake, players help a young fairy piece together a magical world torn apart by dark forces.

The new Apple Watch is also available in a wider range of materials, including aluminium, stainless steel, ceramic, and the all-new titanium finish.

Other shows already announced by the company include "For All Mankind", Ronald D. Moore's alternative-history drama series about the space race; "Little America", an anthology series based on real stories of immigrants from Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon; Sara Bareilles/J.J.

So, even though Apple Arcade has launched ahead of Google Stadia, it's unlikely to accumulate the same level of interest.
