Marvel's Hawkeye Disney+ Show Will Be Written by Ex-Mad Men Scribe

Hailee Steinfeld and Jorge Lendeborg in Bumblebee

Hailee Steinfeld, who most recently starred opposite a giant computer robot masquerading as a crappy auto in Bumblebee, is joining another major franchise: Variety reports that Steinfeld has signed on to star in Hawkeye, one of a handful of new series Marvel is developing for Disney+. Steinfeld would star as Kate Bishop, who will inherit the title character's mantle from Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton. In the following series, Barton played by Renner, will now be seen training young Bishop to take on his mantel.

Hawkeye is expected to stream in fall 2021, and is among multiple Disney+ series in the works at Marvel Studios.

It's the moment that Young Avengers fans everywhere have been waiting for. Hailee Steinfeld is being eyed for the role.

She eventually took on the Hawkeye name and went on to become good friends with Clint himself. After all, we've seen some other actors being in talks for different superhero roles at various points over the years (perhaps most notably Joaquin Phoenix for Doctor Strange) to ultimately part ways with the projects.

Todd Phillips Says Joaquin Phoenix's Joker & Robert Pattinson's Batman Won't Crossover
The famous character has previously been portrayed by other famous actors including Jack Nicholson , Heath Ledger and Jared Leto . This backs up previous reports that Joker is meant to be a completely standalone movie with no planned sequels or spinoffs.

Haliee Steinfeld has previously starred in major blockbuster movies like Pitch Perfect and the Transformers movie, Bumblebee. Also in 2018, she lent her voice to Gwen Stacy/Spider-Gwen in Sony's hit animated adventure, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse.

The series was confirmed by Marvel recently at San Diego Comic-Con. Marvel is also developing limited TV series for Disney+ for Falcon and Winter Soldier as well as Loki and Scarlet Witch.

We'll have more on Hawkeye, Disney+, and all things Marvel Studios when we hear it.
