Robert Pattinson could be The Batman for Warner Bros

Robert Pattinson has been cast to play Batman in the series' next flick

According to them, Nicholas Hoult - the X-Men cast member and star of the new biopic Tokien - is also still in the running for the part.

By the time you read this, there may have been an update and an actual decision made; for now, while Pattinson was reportedly in negotiations, he may not be the final choice. Looking at the previous actors, Robert will be the youngest actor to play the role of Batman in any movie.

The heartthrob-turned-character actor will now be adding "superhero" to his resume. Warner Bros. had no comment. Further details have since surfaced though that clarify just how much care Warner taking over finding their new Dark Knight. But now it's out in the open, and fans can rejoice - or lament - Pattinson's casting as the Gotham vigilante.

The Batman is rumored to be set in the 1990s and represents one of the quickest movie franchise reboots in recent memory. Pattinson also has a role in Christopher Nolan's new film, and if directors as great as Nolan and Reeves think he's the guy, then maybe it's because he's the guy. Pattinson would join actors such as Michael Keaton, Christian Bale, and Ben Affleck in playing the Caped Crusader on the big screen.

2020's Call Of Duty reportedly switches studio mid-development
In February 2018, Kotaku broke the news that Sledgehammer's co-founders, Michael Condrey and Glen Schofield, had left the studio . The PS5 release date looks set for 2020 and appears to have a massive blockbuster game confirmed for its launch year.

"It's more Batman in his detective mode than we've seen in the films", he said.

Sources told Variety that filming might begin on The Batman later this year or early 2020.

The publisher reports the deal hasn't been 100 percent sealed, but that Pattinson is expected to be confirmed soon. It's written and set to be helmed by Matt Reeves, who previously directed the highly acclaimed Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War for the Planet of the Apes.

The Batman will be released as a standalone movie. Reeves' Batman movie is going into pre-production this summer.
