The Mortal Kombat movie reboot will start filming this year

The current iteration of the script is by Greg Russo (The Highwaymen).

More than 20 years after the last big-screen adventure for Mortal Kombat, the iconic fighting game franchise looks to make a theatrical return with a new feature film. The movie is expected to go into pre-production later this month, with production beginning later this year.

It looks like the Mortal Kombat movie reboot has escaped purgatory and is set to be filmed and produced in Australia. Marshall said that "Mortal Kombat" will create an estimated 580 jobs and 1,500 extras employed, along with $49 million (A$70 million) injected into the South Australian economy.

Production begins on iPhone 11’s A13 processor
The third lens on the high-end models is a super wide-angle lens that produces larger, thinner shots and a wider zoom. We can expect the Apple A13 chipset to be a significant upgrade over the A12 in terms of performance.

"Mortal Kombat will be the largest film production in South Australia's history and highlights the importance of engaging with the world's major production houses", Premier Steven Marshall said at a news conference. In terms of horror films, he's best known as the director of Saw and the creator of The Conjuring cinematic universe.

'Mortal Kombat will enhance the scope and reach of our production and post-production capabilities'. Now we get to experience South Australia with its scenic locations and a wealth of artistic talent to work with. Filming will be done in Adelaide, South Australia.

Along with Wan and McQuoid, Todd Garner (Isn't It Romantic, Tag) also produces, with Larry Kasanoff (Mortal Kombat, True Lies), E. Bennett Walsh (Men in Black: International, The Amazing Spider-Man 2), Michael Clear (The Nun, Lights Out), and Sean Robins (Playing with Fire, Tag) executive producing. The film will be shot in Adelaide with post-production set to be handled by other VFX studios that are based in the South Australian region. Animation is also working on a Mortal Kombat animated film. It's Mortal Kombat, it could be anything, but it will nearly certainly feature many punches. Mortal Kombat 11 is available now on PS4, PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
