Roma beats champion Juventus in bid for top 4 spot

Juventus Torino

Roma kept their Champions League hopes alive when late goals from Alessandro Florenzi and Edin Dzeko gave them a 2-0 home win over Serie A champions Juventus on Sunday.

It was Alessandro Florenzi and Edin Dzeko who scored the goals of the match in the 79th and 92nd minute.

Serie A champions Juventus unveiled their new home kit for the 2019-20 season.

Juventus and second-placed Napoli are already guaranteed Champions League football next season, but the battle for the two remaining top-four places is set to go down to the wire with just three points separating Roma in sixth from Atalanta in third.

However, for the first time in over a century, they have removed the iconic black-and-white stripes traditionally worn by players.

"I'm not making any predictions, we are depending on others", said Roma's veteran coach Claudio Ranieri, who took over in March to guide the team through the rest of this season.

Donald Trump Praises Bill Barr for Investigating Russia 'Hoax' Origin

Fifth-placed AC Milan are level on points with Roma after a 1-0 win at Fiorentina.

After Florenzi missed the target again, Dzeko stepped up to make sure of the points in the second minute of stoppage time.

Torino captain Andrea Belotti scored a brace, including the victor with a spectacular overhead kick in a come-from-behind 3-2 win over 10-man Sassuolo.

Fabio Quagliarella pulled a goal back for Sampdoria converting a penalty in injury time to take his Serie A leading tally to 26 goals - five more than Juventus star Ronaldo.
